About me

Hello, I’m Ryan Girvan, a Mental & Physical Transformation Coach and Personal Trainer, deeply committed to guiding individuals through their journey of self-discovery and physical empowerment. My journey into the world of fitness and personal development began in the shadow of personal challenges, from a tumultuous upbringing marked by uncertainty and isolation to finding solace and strength in the discipline of physical training. This path led me to realise the profound connection between mind and body, inspiring me to dedicate my life to helping others find this balance.

At the heart of my coaching lies the Becoming Your Best Coaching programme, a holistic approach that intertwines mindset, health, and body. It's not just about transforming your physique; it's about reshaping your life. Through personalized training, nutrition plans, and a focus on mental wellness, I empower my clients to overcome gym anxiety, self-doubt, and the stress that often clouds our daily existence.

My love for fitness ignited at 15, a gift from my uncles that became a lifelong passion. Despite not excelling in sports, I found my strength in the gym, leading me to pursue fitness, health, and exercise in college. This journey wasn’t just about mastering physical training; it was also about embarking on a path of personal development and self-mastery, which has been instrumental in both my professional growth and the success of my clients.

Qualifying as a PT in 2019 was just the beginning. The subsequent lockdowns and the pivot to online coaching only deepened my commitment to this field, introducing me to the teachings of Dr. John Demartini and the intricate dance of human behavior and mindset. These experiences, coupled with my own story of resilience and transformation, have equipped me with the tools to not just coach but truly change lives.

Here at Becoming Your Best you learn to enjoy training in the gym and creating healthier lifestyle choices to consistently progress in the gym, developing muscle, improving strength and using your training as a form of self-care (while becoming your most confident self!).


Here’s what I believe:

  • We all have the capacity to do something amazing with our lives. We deserve to have the opportunity to manifest our dreams into reality - and we can!

  • You can’t pour from an empty cup. When you fill yours, you'll have more to give to others. Until you value yourself, neither will other people. Work on yourself, you're worth it

  • When you know your values you know yourself. When you know yourself, you can be yourself. When you are being your (full authentic) self. You can be loved and appreciated for who you really are. It's what we all want.

  • Coaching costs money, but saves time and energy. Zoom out and look at the bigger picture: Where are you going?

  • If you’re not consistently filling your day with high priority challenges that inspire you, it will fill up with low value distractions that don't. Be wise, prioritise. Do ABC's not XYZ's

  • There's a hidden blessing in every stressing when you take the time to look

  • You can't change what you don't love. learn to love the things you want to change and they will

  • Investing in yourself is the best investment you can make

  • You. I believe in you.

A BRIEF INSIGHT IN MY PAST - PRESENT

BORN 29TH APRIL 1999

GROWING UP

Oldest of 4, 2 with special needs

'Challenging' up bringing (I guess); lived in homeless housing, moved from council home to council home. Frequent domestic abuse involving drink / drugs. Didn't know biological father

THESE VOIDS...

1. Lacked emotional control & understanding:

frequently 'misbehaving' and getting into trouble but not understanding why.

2. Labelled Selfish:

Cared little for other peoples needs other than my own

3. No Money

Mum / step-dad struggled financially.

4. Escapism / Isolation

I used computer games as an escape from the challenging environment/ situations.

Started attending conditioning fitness classes with my uncles then soon started running,

mainly as an outlet for my negative emotions

Gran passed away

2015

Mum passed away

Started resistance training and kept training because of how it made me look and feel

2017

Studied HND Fitness, Health & Exercise at college for 2 years

Working part time jobs

Partying most every weekend

AUGUST 2019 - THE BEGINNING

Started working as a Personal Trainer at Pure Gym Clydebank


MARCH 2020

Lockdown started, gyms closed

Studied full time online, learning to build my PT business with Mark Coles

MAY 2020

Took business online, started online fitness coaching while studying

JULY 2020

Introduced to my mentors mentor, Dr John Demartini - human behavioural specialist

From there, started studying more human behaviour / mindset than fitness


DEC 2020

Attended first 2-day Breakthrough Experience with Dr John Demartini

Transformed how I saw life, broke through resentment, created a vision for my life, equipped with mindset tools
